Woo! It's been a busy month! :D I started my first job in the industry at the beginning of this month and it's been awesome. 8D I'm working at Bardel Entertainment as a 3D animator on Nickelodeon's "Planet Sheen". It's an amazing and funny show and I'm having a blast working on it. :)

I tried a new way of painting this time... I didn't use a painterly brush like I usually do, I used an airbrush for most of it (except the hair). Normally I'd be all eeeeww airbrush, it makes things so smooth. But I like how the face turned out.

My second attempt at animating in Toon Boom (first attempt = terrible). I still have some things to figure out but overall I'm pretty happy with this. :p Aaaaargh TB, you are such a learning curve from Flash.

I recently realized that I have never done fanart for this movie. Which is crazy because this is MY FAVOURITE MOVIE... MOVIES.

I totally used my own little toy BttF DeLorean model for reference. I propped it up using a flashlight and the holder for my tablet pen.

Flash Build - The Return Of Wiggles

I drew up a Flash build of my old friend Wiggles today. :] I might try and animate him later on. Maybe in the two week break when I'm sick and tired of TVPaint, I'll go back to Flash. :B

I tried out some new ways of going about building a character with this one. I masked his eyes, for one thing. So that I can have the pupil go further without having it go out of the outline of the eye... If that makes sense. YEAH. So I'm excited to try and animate him. :D

It's amazing how EXTREMELY BUSY I've been. And yet... I don't really have much to post here.

But what is it I've been doing? Oh, nothing. AND ANIMATING. Sooo maaany little icons. So many.

I'm actually really grateful that people like them. C8 Which means more people will want them, which means more money, which means I don't feel as guilty about not going out to look for a job. Plus I get lots of practise animating, so yay.

Also, for you deviantART users, you will know what I mean when I say I got a Daily Deviation. :D Usually my message centre is like "You have 20 messages" and on the day I got the DD it was "YOU HAVE FOUR HUNDRED MESSAGES."

I'm also having fun playing with After Effects for titles and stuff for my animation project. Mostly just using the one effects I know how to use... But this website is AMAZING for AE tutorials. I'm so glad I found it. I've found a lot of the stuff helpful for just learning how to navigate in AE. XD It also gave me a better understanding of Premiere, if you can believe it.

ANYWAY.

This post should probably have some art in it.

IT TOOK FOREVER JUST TO DO THE SKETCH. Whaaaat

I have my reasons though. x) I really wanted to do a big group picture with all my main characters (... and then some!) so I was like... Since they time travel to learn history, I'll recreate a famous painting! Yeah, that would be cool! Well I looked and I narrowed it down to 4: Night Watch (This one), Liberty Leading the People, The Last Supper, and Washington Crossing the Delaware. WELL. I chose Night Watch. :p It had the most personality for what I wanted to do, I thought.

BUT THEN I wanted to include some other teachers and they don't travel through time with the history class so I made it more... symbolic? So it's now like some kind of modern recreation of something that happened a long time ago. I guess. And since it's all opposite I shall call this one... Day Watch.

And Night Watch is my favourite book. :p

I'm just about done my design package (I'm still working on the expression sheet. Aah!). And I was wondering if anyone had any critiques. I got a lot of great ones on my layout (and changed it and I like it a lot more, thanks guys!) so yeah. d:

Just a little back story: Stanton Wigglesworth LIV prefers the name Wiggles to Stanton. LIV means 54 in roman numerals. He's the 54th S. Wigglesworth in his family. He has an older brother named Stephan Wigglesworth LIII. Wiggles is a travelling Librarian (Stine and Frank are his horses that pull his library). He's the only one who knows that Lettice (the bunny) can talk, which is quite unfortunate because Lettice never stops talking. His brother runs the rival library. Mary Lovely (daughter of the ruler of the city) loves books and libraries but despite Wiggles' attempts, she doesn't know of the Library On Wheels. So she donates a lot of money to Stephan's library.

Wiggles' DESIRE (oohhhh) is to get into the high society crowd. He's well on his way with a top hat and monocle but he needs a cane to be complete. And he just can't find the perfect one. His DETERRENT (aahhhh) is that it's hard to make money from a Library On Wheels.

And from a design point of view: Warm colours = working class, cool colours = high society.
